A group of students from Islip High School recently participated in what is hoped to become a new tradition- Halloween Window Painting.
Islip High School students were asked to create Halloween-themed designs to be painted on the windows of five Islip businesses. Islip High School student designers Maggie Farkas, Kayla Kurka, Stephen Pham and Emily Schmitz then led a team of students who together made these designs a reality on the windows of Mod Printing, Kuhn Construction, Insalata, Coyles Ice Cream and Circle Of One Martial Arts.

They were also introduced to different career opportunities that are available to them in the fine and performing arts. Under the supervision of art director Mrs. Melissa Trocchio-Cohen, the high school scenic designers have worked diligently to create the scenery for our 2009 musical “Damn Yankees”.
