Lauren Goldstein (2011) has secured a position in the very prestigious art contest, “Long Island’s Best” at the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington. Lauren is the first Islip student in four years to emerge at the top of the arduous selection process executed by the museum curators.

Lauren’s work will be on display at the Heckscher Museum (map) beginning April 17th. The exhibition continues through May 2nd. You were downtown over the Winter Recess, possibly seeing “Mary Poppins” on Broadway and thought “Don’t I know that young man?” You probably do.

Islip Middle School’s own Jeremiah Kissane (grade 7) is currently performing the lead role of “Michael Banks” in Mary Poppins on Broadway through May 2010.
